Reto Peru Cusco is proud to be associated with the following Foundations

OPEN SKIES FOUNDATION

Open Skies foundation is raising awareness for our greenhouse project whereby we assist local community members to construct and maintain greenhouses in their community to produce vegetables and flowers to supply to the local markets in Cusco year round. Reto Peru backs up this project by also providing financial education and training to the community members on how to run and maintain their business successfully.

PEREGRINE ADVENTURES COMMUNITY TRUST

The Peregrine Adventures Community Trust supports the development of workshops for adults and teenagers in our communities. These workshops provide a creative space for members to learn new skills and sell high quality handmade products to the local tourist market in Cusco, Peru and also to fair trade organisations around the world. Backed with financial education and training, members also participate in information sessions on a range of social topics such as women's and legal rights, family planning, how to create a sustainable small business, health and nutrition, effects of alcoholism and domestic violence. The idea is for members to work and gain an independent form of income to spend on the welfare of their families and to also boost self-esteem and create autonomy.

HOW DOES RETO PERU CUSCO OPERATE FINANCIALLY?

To date, the funds Reto Peru Cusco receives via the Peru's Challenge Program assist in covering fixed running costs including wages and salaries, transport, health and medical materials, development and construction costs, learning materials and resources, marketing, and emergency assistance to community members.

Have a look at all of the Pumamarca School projects that Reto Peru Cusco has already completed since it started working there in September 2005 and its work on the Quilla Huata project.

However, Reto Peru Cusco cannot continually rely on the Peru's Challenge Program volunteers for developing sustainable projects for the future of the communities in which it works. Reto Peru Cusco needs to find additional support so it can constantly pursue new projects and support the communities.
